Sportdog — event training for fun!

Obedience is NOT boring!
Take a Sportdog class and learn how to enhance obedience skills.
Dogs should have participated in a beginning obedience class prior to these classes.
All dogs need to be tolerant to the presence of other dogs.
Training for fun or competition level.

Agility

Agility is a challenging, fun event sport that requires genuine teamwork with your dog. The handler's job is to direct her dog as he sprints his way around an obstacle course.

Agility 1 - introduction to agility 8 weeks 1 hour/week $230.00

Weeks 1+2 focus on building the teamwork concept between owner and dog.
Weeks 3-8 introduction to agility obstacles; open and closed tunnel, contact obstacles, jumps, 3-pole weaves. On Leash
Agility 2 - intermediate 7 weeks 1 hour/week $230.00

Weeks 1+2 developing handler control and enhancing canine awareness.
Weeks 3-8 building obstacle skills begun in Agility 1.
Development of positional control (crosses) and starting distance handling. Equipment additions: 6-pole weaves, teeter. Transition to off-leash. Entry into class by permission.
Agility 3 - advanced 6 weeks 1 hour/week $215.00

Teams work on sequencing obstacles. Emphasis on effective and efficient movement while on course. Off-leash. Entry into class by permission

Ready to Rally! Rally Obedience

Teams are encouraged to try Rally Obedience as a gateway into competitive canine sports. There are many trials year-round off-island within easy commute of Woods Hole!

Rally 1 - AKC Novice 7 weeks 1 hour/week $215.00

Take your beginning obedience to a fun next level! Rally1 combines 31 different obedience exercises into a course of up to 15 stations. Turns, Right & Left Side finish, Loose leash heeling. Class is on leash. There is an emphasis on developing good leash handling skills.
Rally 2 - AKC Advanced 7 weeks 1 hour/week $215.00

Rally 2 adds 14 new obedience to those already learned at Novice level. Teams will work to develop and enhance the concept of "The Mental Leash" managing and maintaining your dog's attention while off leash.
Rally Obedience Practice/Run Through weekly 1 hour/week $30.00

If you are looking for extra Rally practice and instruction, come & join the group! The session is open to any level of experience from just-taking-a-Rally-class to competitor.
If you are not sure if Rally is for you, drop in to audit a practice run-through in session. Rally is a great way to enhance and practice your obedience skills in a fun way.

During the summer months practice is held outside in a variety of locations.

Rally 3 - AKC Excellent 7 weeks 1 hour/week $215.00

Rally 3 completes the knowledge! Learn the remaining 5 exercises including Heeling in Reverse, Halt/Stand/Walk Around Your Dog and the Honor Exercise.
